Hudson City Schools has been awarded a BCME award, recognizing districts that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
HHS Jazz I and Jazz II will perform at BLU Jazz+ on April 24th at 7:00 PM as part of the Kent State High School Jazz Nights series.
The objectives of Hudson High School Music Association (HHSMA) are to maintain an organization which will benefit students of the Music Program at Hudson High School, Huds and to cooperate where able with the Music Directors in motivating and maintaining an enthusiastic interest in the various phases of music activity.
During a fall season the marching band will perform at 10 football games, 3 band shows, and their own Parade of Bands. After marching season, the three concert ensembles perform for audiences at Hudson High School, OMEA competitions, and other venues.
The Hudson High School Vocal Program is one that prides itself on the foundation of a proper music education for each individual student.
The orchestras perform a minimum of four formal concerts throughout the school year, plus additional performances at festivals, OMEA competitions, elementary school concerts and community events.
The Hudson High School Jazz Ensembles consist of traditional big bands with opportunity for small group experience. Each ensemble experiences a varied repertoire of jazz styles from 1900 - today, including swing, funk, be-bop, Latin, and rock.
