The purpose of this award is to provide scholarships to help further the education of senior students enrolled in the Hudson High School music program who best exemplify musical excellence and leadership. $5,000 will be divided among the winners. Individual scholarship amount and the number of winners will be dependent upon the applicant pool.
AWARD
- One-time scholarships are presented to the selected seniors.
- The recipients’ names are recorded on a permanent display plaque at the High School.
- An award of recognition inscribed with the recipient’s name is presented at the High School Awards Assembly along with the scholarship check. Winners are also announced at end-of-the-year concerts.
CRITERIA
- The recipient is a student who is a graduating senior.
- The student is a current member of the Hudson High School music program.
- The recipient shall have demonstrated excellence in the music field through performance and leadership.
- Performance may include: Hudson High School Bands, Choirs, and Orchestras. Performance also includes other extracurricular ensembles such as: youth choirs or orchestras, solo & small ensemble contests, and private music lessons.
- Leadership encompasses responsibility, self-discipline, and initiative. It may be demonstrated via formal leadership positions, such as: chair placement, officer positions or section/squad leadership.
NOMINATIONS
- Seniors are self-nominated by choosing to print and complete the application packet available in SchooLinks, or by clicking the Download link below.
- Supporting documentation should include one essay and up to two letters of recommendation, specifically from Hudson High School faculty, private music teachers, or outside ensemble directors. Recommendations from any of the High School music directors are excluded unless the music director is the private music teacher.

- Due: Monday, April 3, 2023 at 3:00 P.M.
- Return your completed scholarship application to the High School Guidance Office.
- All papers should be in a sealed envelope to be sure nothing is lost.
- You will receive written notification by e-mail that your application has been processed.
- The recipients will be announced at the final musical performances of the year and at the High School’s Senior Award Recognition evening in May.
